Weiterführend muss jedoch gesagt werden, dass sich die kleinen technischen Schwierigkeiten komplett auf den Online-Modus beschränken und das Spiel sonst einwandfrei läuft. Jedoch vermisste ich einen gewissen Charakter während meiner Zeit in den Kampagnen, denn obwohl die Events großteils kurzweiligen Spaß bieten und im Verlauf auch fordern, fehlte mir persönlich die Langzeitmotivation. Zwar erwarte ich bei so einem Spiel nicht unbedingt einen Story-Modus, aber ein wenig Hintergrund hätte auf jeden Fall geholfen. So fühlte sich das ganze etwas zu mechanisch und gefühlslos an. Generell ist die Omega Collection jedoch ein gelungenes Comeback von Wipeout. An dieser Stelle darf auch gehofft werden, dass das Spiel Sonys erwartete Verkaufszahlen erfüllt und wir womöglich in absehbarer Zukunft einen “echten” neuen Ableger der Wipeout-Serie bekommen. |

The thing that sets Wipeout apart from racing games of today is that it doesn’t take itself seriously during a time where some racing games are beginning to do so more regularly.
