Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is another bare minimum, overpriced remaster hoping nostalgia will encourage fans to turn a blind eye to dated problems.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection might not feature any updated visuals, but it features tons of content and enjoyable battles.
Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is a rather underwhelming package. It adds little to two already fantastic games, but what little improvements it does add (like upscaled textures and support for modern hardware) are nice to have.

But Why Tho? | Kyle Foley | 9 / 10 | 03-13-2024 | Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is the perfect way to relive one of the best Star Wars video game franchises. These games may be old, but that doesn’t stop new and old players alike from jumping into a galaxy far, far away for the time of their lives. | Read review |
Capsule Computers | Dustin Spencer | 6.5 / 10 | 03-17-2024 | Star Wars Battlefront Collection is a nostalgic blast from the past, but misses the mark with its included online mode. While it is worth a revisit, this is not the definitive way to play the classics. | Read review |
Cerealkillerz | Nick Erlenhof | 7.6 / 10 | 03-15-2024 | Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection brings two great games back into the modern era. Packed full of content, all the DLC, online modes and a polished look, there should be little to go wrong here. But Aspyr messed things up with a disastrous online launch with too few servers, spongy controls and a lack of options from the original. Patch it Chewie! | Read review |
CGMagazine | Chris De Hoog | 6 / 10 | 03-18-2024 | Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is another bare minimum, overpriced remaster hoping nostalgia will encourage fans to turn a blind eye to dated problems. | Read review |
Final Weapon | Noah Hunter | 3 / 5 stars | 03-17-2024 | Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection revives two beloved multiplayer experiences for modern consoles. While both keep the gameplay feel and flow, this release is plagued with serious online issues that make this collection hard to recommend. The single-player content is exceptional and justifiable for purchase, but overall, the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection feels incomplete and messy. | Read review |
GamesCreed | Junior Onunkwo | 4.3FALSE | 03-13-2024 | STAR WARS: Battlefront Classic Collection is another remastered game that’ll satisfy our nostalgic taste buds. Other than the issue mentioned earlier, which simply needs a patch, with your increased knowledge of what this bundle contains, plus the improvements, fixes, and extra trimmings, it’s fair to say that it’s a much smarter move to spend extra for a package with more enhanced and polished versions. | Read review |
GamingBolt | Ravi Sinha | 8 / 10 | 03-14-2024 | Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection showcases how a streamlined yet content-packed shooter can still stand out today. Its AI problems and repetition can be a drag, but this is still an essential experience for Star Wars fans. | Read review |
GamingTrend | Adam Moreno | 85 / 100 | 03-13-2024 | If you remember playing the original Battlefront I and II, you’ll love playing them again on new generation consoles. They’ve added Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress as well as multiple new maps that never made it into the originals. This definitely makes it worth it for any fan of these games or those wanting to see what all the fuss was about back in 2004/2005. Plus, with the ability to play multiplayer with friends and randoms, it’s going to be just like the simulations once again! | Read review |
Gert Lush Gaming | Jim Smale | 6.8 / 10 | 03-18-2024 | The STAR WARS Battlefront Classic Collection should have been a slam dunk but it has managed to somehow fumble on the one-yard line. For as amazing as these games are, this new updated version is riddled with issues from online being nearly unplayable, to major performance issues. | Read review |
God is a Geek | Chris White | 8 / 10 | 03-13-2024 | Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection might not feature any updated visuals, but it features tons of content and enjoyable battles. | Read review |
Hobby Consolas | Javier Escribano | 70 / 100 | 03-18-2024 | Star Wars Battlefront: Classic Collection brings back two milestones in Star Wars playable history and it’s great to have them available on all consoles. Whether you get a lot of value and fun from them beyond nostalgia and fan service is another matter: the absence of crossplay and flimsy online play limit their long-term potential. | Read review |
Multiplayer First | Unknown | 6 / 10 | 03-13-2024 | Would I recommend picking these titles up if you’re a recently converted Star Wars fan and you’ve never played them before? No, I don’t think I would. The inherent value of the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection lies primarily in its nostalgia factor. For those of us who grew up playing Ewok Hunt on Endor and abusing Anakin’s Force Choke in Mos Eisley, this package will feel like home. But it’ll feel the same way home feels when you move out for the first time and come back to find that your parents are not idols but normal people, and flawed people at that. The Battlefront Classic Collection presents Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 in their most faithful forms and refuses to elaborate on them, down to every quirk, fault, and irritating repetitive bug. | Read review |
NoobFeed | Jacob Cowsert | 80 / 100 | 03-14-2024 | STAR WARS: Battlefront Classic Collection is an echo of the past with some of the benefits of being in the modern era. IT would have been nice to have some extra content like behind-the-scenes footage or concept art as part of the larger collection, but by no means was it necessary. It would have also been nice to see some polished elements like textures or animations, but that wouldn’t preserve the games as they were. | Read review |
Press Start | Adam Ryan | 8.5 / 10 | 03-13-2024 | After two decades of advancements and innovation, Battlefront I and II still offer some of the most enjoyable gameplay in the shooter genre. Rich in content, new and old, the Classic Collection successfully brings two fan-favourite Star Wars games onto today’s hardware. The absence of a few modern creature comforts is disappointing, but it does little to weigh down an otherwise brilliant bundle. | Read review |
PSX Brasil | Isabella Alves | 85 / 100 | 03-13-2024 | Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection brings all the action of Star Wars battles back to consoles. With the mission of being fun, the game has interesting single player campaigns, a Galactic Conquest mode with a pinch of strategy and a multiplayer filled with new maps. A collection made for long-time fans, but which also invites new ones to live one of the most entertaining experiences of the Star Wars saga. | Read review |
TechRaptor | Austin Suther | 7.5 / 10 | 03-13-2024 | Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is a rather underwhelming package. It adds little to two already fantastic games, but what little improvements it does add (like upscaled textures and support for modern hardware) are nice to have. | Read review |
Use a Potion | Unknown | 6 / 10 | 03-18-2024 | Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection could have been an old-school treat, but a botched launch has made it hard to recommend to even the most die-hard of Star Wars fans. Don’t get me wrong, it has been a lot of fun to re-visit the single player modes and the technical improvements really do enhance the experience, but the issues that have plagued multiplayer are an absolute nightmare. Whilst it has been easier to get into matches since launch, the fact that they still bring with them a myriad of bugs really does sour the collection as a whole. | Read review |
WayTooManyGames | Leonardo Faria | 8.5 / 10 | 03-13-2024 | So what you have here is a friendly reminder of why Battlefront was one of the coolest gaming sub-franchises of the mid-2000s. Aspyr didn’t exactly do a lot to remaster these games in this collection, but at the very least, they didn’t compromise them. The very few additions (bigger player count, online multiplayer, and a vast improvement on the Hero Assault variety) are still very welcome. | Read review |
WhatIfGaming | Ali Hashmi | 8 / 10 | 03-13-2024 | Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is the perfect way to revisit the series on modern platforms. The addictive gunplay, diverse units, and level variety hold up to this day, and you can easily spend hundreds of hours in each entry thanks to multiple game modes, and multiplayer. The UI is a bit dated now, and the lack of crossplay support is holding the collection back, but if you’re looking for some of the best Star Wars action video games have to offer, you can’t go wrong with this. | Read review |
