Party Animals is a chaotic, goofy, fun party game that occasionally stumbles over its inflexible rules and local multiplayer mishaps.
A fizzy addition to the party game canon, Party Animals brings ample amounts of chaos and chuckles, with an uneven mix of modes highlighting the physic fighting shortcomings. Still, it’s never not fun to hurl a friend off a speeding train and see them shrink into the distance.
Party Animals is a simplistic, chaotic mess that can be fun for anyone. Its wide variety of maps and modes allows for each round to feel unique, and its list of options is quite vast despite the game itself being forced into online play. It’s far from a defining title in the industry, but Party Animals is still one that few players will want to miss out on.

3DNews | Алексей Лихачев | 8 / 10 | 10-01-2023 | An excellent game to play with friends and have fun, or just to lift your spirits in matches wirh randoms. But it’s better to play with people you know – a ton of fun is guaranteed. | Read review |
Attack of the Fanboy | Marc Magrini | 4 / 5 stars | 09-19-2023 | Party Animals is a simplistic, chaotic mess that can be fun for anyone. Checkpoint Gaming | Melissa Taylor | 7 / 10 | 09-25-2023 | Party Animals is a fantastic game to get everyone in the mood. Not only is the art design enriching, but the sound design really makes an impact as well. Each match will have you in hysterics as you fight for the crown. There are some serious concerns surrounding the microtransaction economy found within as well as a lack of accessibility options for people who need them. However, at the very least, the game does prove to be a fun time with friends and an easy way to lose track of the hours. | Read review |
DarkZero | Dominic Sheard | 7 / 10 | 10-27-2023 | Party Animals is now a title that has been added to my rotation of online multiplayer games, due to the game being an enjoyable and funky party brawler/multiplayer game that works well on your own or with a group of friends. | Read review |
Expansive | Sally Willington | 7 / 10 | 09-30-2023 | Party Animals is a ridiculously good time. It tickles every funny bone in your body, looks absolutely gorgeous and offers some of the most fun you can have in a multiplayer game. There are some issues with the game not offering offline local multiplayer, hefty microtransactions and some control issues, but none of it really takes away the fun of just throwing each other around various battlegrounds and knocking each other out after a death-defying dropkick or headbutt. | Read review |
Game Rant | Dalton Cooper | 3.5 / 5 stars | 09-15-2023 | People who enjoy Gang Beasts and other physics-based multiplayer games will have a blast with Party Animals as it’s easily the most polished and fully-featured game of its kind. However, it’s unlikely to convert any newcomers, and it remains to be seen how its monetization will play out. The game’s budget price and its availability on Xbox Game Pass make it an easy recommendation for those needing a new mindless multiplayer game for their rotation, but don’t go in expecting anything groundbreaking. | Read review |
Gameblog | Camille Allard | 9 / 10 | 09-15-2023 | Party Animals is a slap in the face and will make you laugh. Intelligent, beautiful, easy to access and yet full of challenge, it’s a little marvel. | Read review |
GameGrin | Alana Dunitz | 8 / 10 | 09-15-2023 | Party Animals is a great multiplayer title to play with friends that won’t get boring or super repetitive like other titles in the genre. With a huge variety of characters and maps to check out, this will keep you busy for a long time. | Read review |

GameWatcher | Michelle Cornelia | 9 / 10 | 09-25-2023 | Party Animals stands out as an enjoyable and hilarious multiplayer physics game that will entertain and keep you occupied. Thanks to various game modes and an unpredictable physics system, you can be sure this game guarantees laughter and memorable moments when playing with your friends. | Read review |
GamingTrend | Dominique McClain | 80 / 100 | 11-21-2023 | Party Animals presents an overall fun and chaotic experience that will have players laughing with their friends. The characters are cute, the boards are fun and the multiplayer aspect is a plus. However, since the release date, not much has been added which makes the game short-lived with content and can demotivate players to pick this title up again. | Read review |
Generación Xbox | Frank Montes | 8.5 / 10 | 10-16-2023 | Concluding this review of Party Animals in the best possible way, this is a very entertaining game. It feels casual, which isn’t a bad thing as it provides instant fun without needing to wait for hours to enjoy. The developers have done an excellent job, balanced and with the ideal elements for this type of game. | Read review |
God is a Geek | Lyle Carr | 5 / 10 | 09-15-2023 | Party Animals is simply frustrating to play, and most of the minigames boil down to the same scrappy situations that get old fast. | Read review |
Hey Poor Player | Shane Boyle | 4.5 / 5 stars | 09-15-2023 | Party Animals could easily have been a derivative Gang Beasts or Fall Guys clone, but its incredibly creative maps and modes, along with the wealth of content that will be available at launch, have resulted in a title that feels like it has a real shout at joining the regular rotation of party game fanatics with immediate effect. Minor gripes with match length and camera issues aside, this is an incredibly well-polished experience that I foresee giving me and my friends hours upon hours of fun for years to come. Typically with party games, I only bother with them when I have company around or my better half and I want something fun to play while we open a bottle of wine. Perhaps, then, the biggest compliment I can give Party Animals is that while it absolutely is going to be a great game that I enjoy with familiar company, it’s also an experience that I see myself dipping into while flying solo, making use of the game’s seemingly robust matchmaking. In fact, that’s enough from me – don’t tell PETA, but I’m about to dive back into Party Animals and whack a few animals around the head with an oversized frying pan. | Read review |

Oyungezer Online | Gülhis Canpolat | 7.5 / 10 | 11-06-2023 | Depending on who you play Party Animals with, it can be a long-running game or a regret you’ll forget after two days. Unfortunately this is the fate of all parties. While you’re in a corner wondering why you attended, someone else may be having the night of their lifes… Animals. | Read review |
PC Invasion | Noah Nelson | 9 / 10 | 09-15-2023 | Party Animals is a blast and a half! The music slaps, the animals are adorable, and the maps are magnificent | Read review |

The Game Crater | Jayden Hellyar | 9 / 10 | 09-15-2023 | Party Animals reignites the joy of multiplayer chaos. Twinfinite | Stephanie Watel | 4 / 5 stars | 09-15-2023 | All in all, Party Animals brings a unique and adorably new experience to the table in the world of online multiplayer brawlers, helping contribute to a niche of that genre that is growing increasingly popular. While not absolutely groundbreaking, the game definitely brings a clever formula of its own making that is well-curated, clearly made with love, and incredibly enjoyable to play. There are plenty of laughs that get thrown around with just as many punches, and whether you want to be top dog (or cat, or goose, etc) is entirely up to you. | Read review |
VGChartz | Lee Mehr | 7.5 / 10 | 10-18-2023 | It’s not without some noticeable foibles, but if the best gauge for success was how often I said “just one more game… just one more game” then it deserves heaps of paw-sitivity. | Read review |
Video Chums | A.J. Maciejewski | 8 / 10 | 09-21-2023 | Even though the intentionally clumsy controls of Party Animals has been done before, the amount of variety makes it stand out. | Read review |
WayTooManyGames | Jordan Hawes | 8 / 10 | 09-29-2023 | Party Animals is a really fun time to play, whether online with others, or sitting with some friends and family on some good, old-fashioned local multiplayer. This truly feels like a next step up from previous silly physics-based brawlers, even if it does have its own bits of frustrations. However, I think if you don’t try to take it seriously, and are in it for some lighthearted fun, Party Animals can easily be in your rotation of fun party games. | Read review |
Windows Central | Rebecca Spear | 3 / 5 stars | 09-21-2023 | Party Animals’ adorable, floppy characters and variety of maps should make for an easy win. However, awkward mechanics and sluggish controls can make the game very frustrating to play. | Read review |
