Fast RMX injects Switch’s launch lineup with lightning-fast futuristic racing.
Fast RMX is one of the best Switch titles out right now. Given how Shin’en is supporting the game with free updates, with the first adding time trials, it’s a great time to pick it up and play this game.
Good tracks and great racing combine in this well-positioned futuristic racer. It’s nothing groundbreaking, and is very similar to its predecessor, but it has enough new content and multiplayer fun to keep me coming back for hours.

CGMagazine | Chris Carter | 9 / 10 | 03-18-2017 | A fast racing hybrid that's one part Wipeout, one part F-Zero | Read review |
COGconnected | Rory Wood | 85 / 100 | 03-06-2017 | An impressively fast and well-playing arcade racer that will constantly keep you on your toes. | Read review |
Cubed3 | Tomas Barry | 8 / 10 | 03-04-2017 | If one thing is certain, it's that the F-Zero brand would be in good hands should Nintendo ever choose to take this fruitful relationship with Shin'en Multimedia to a new level and entrust the property to them. Since there hasn't been a new title from Nintendo in so long, it seems like a logical thing to do. In the meantime, Fast RMX is an excellent arcade racer that will satisfy anyone's craving for speed and intensity, as well as gorgeous graphics that really show off the Switch's capability. As a full priced game, it would still stand out, but as a £17.99 download on the eShop, this really is a no- brainer for any fans of arcade racing. One of the best launch day games available. | Read review |
Destructoid | Patrick Hancock | 8.5 / 10 | 03-10-2017 | Fast RMXÂ continued to grow on me the more I played it. While the lack of online features is a bit of a downer, the sheer amount of things to do is well worth the small asking price. The track layouts give the players freedom and force some serious critical thinking, which I can't say I've encountered much in the genre. It can be frustrating when first starting out due to the difficulty and reliance on track memorization, but I encourage you to stick with it and challenge yourself to learn the tracks and rise through the ranks! | Read review |
Digital Chumps | Steven McGehee | 8.8 / 10 | 03-01-2017 | Generally speaking, there is very little not to like about Fast RMX. If you dumped a lot of hours into Fast Racing or Fast Racing Neo, ok, maybe there's not enough content here for you to warrant a re-purchase, but I don't think anyone is seriously in that boat. Instead, what you have is a really compelling, slick racer that gets the core gameplay done right and does it in style. For Switch owners, consider it a priority release. | Read review |
Digital Trends | Steven Petite | 3.5 / 5 stars | 03-10-2017 | 'Fast RMX' isn't quite the 'F-Zero' revival you've been waiting for, but it's close | Read review |
Digitally Downloaded | Harvard L | 4.5 / 5 stars | 03-15-2017 | FAST Racing RMX feels like a modernised F-Zero in every regard. Its gameplay feels fluid and engaging, and the track design is arguably better than any other game of its kind. | Read review |
DualShockers | Lou Contaldi | 7.5 / 10 | 04-01-2017 | Fast RMX isn’t the best looking arcade racer on the market, and it lacks the polish that other games bring to the equation. However its tight gameplay and impressive tech (for Nintendo Switch) elevates Fast RMX to something better than its individual parts. For those searching for recommendations, Fast RMX easily offers $20 worth of racing entertainment as you wait for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and is an easy buy to any fan of the genre. | Read review |
EGM | Ray Carsillo | 7.5 / 10 | 03-10-2017 | The fact that some of Fast RMX's modes like Time Attack missed launch is a bummer, and track design can be a bit inconsistent in terms of quality, but if you're looking for a pure arcade racing experience, this heir apparent to F-Zero will definitely do the trick. | Read review |
Everyeye.it | Matteo Mangoni | 8.6 / 10 | 03-12-2017 | Fast RMX is a sensational racing game: fast, frenetic and marvelous. Without any doubt, it's one of the best game released on Nintendo Switch. | Read review |
FNintendo | Nuno Nêveda | 8 / 10 | 03-19-2017 | High speed futuristic races delivered without technical flaws and with stunning-looking visual landscapes is what FAST RMX brings forth and no player should leave this game behind. | Read review |
Game Revolution | Jonathan Leack | 3.5 / 5 stars | 03-05-2017 | Fast RMX is one of the best Switch titles out right now. Given how Shin'en is supporting the game with free updates, with the first adding time trials, it's a great time to pick it up and play this game. | Read review |
Gameblog | Julien Hubert | 8 / 10 | 03-09-2017 | FAST rmx is an excellent racing game for the Nintendo Switch. It offers great sensations of speed and fine tuned gameplay... even if it stills suffers a lack of game modes, especially in online multiplayer. | Read review |
GameCrate | David Jagneaux | 8 / 10 | 03-31-2017 | This game is a must-play for sci-fi racing fans who own a Switch, especially if you dream about the day a new F-Zero game comes out. It's not exactly the same, but evokes a strong classic feeling with a few new twists that make it both fresh and familiar. | Read review |
GameMAG | ACE | 8 / 10 | 04-07-2017 | Fast RMX definitely deserves attention, even if you played Neo for WiiU. The game supports all versions of configurations and controllers with the ability to reconfigure the controls. It looks insanely beautiful in both TV and portable mode, occupy only 835 MB on hard disk and have super fast loading screens, which is very convenient for short trips. If you are looking for a dynamic and very spectacular racing game, Fast RMX is the right purchase. | Read review |
GameSpew | Richard Seagrave | 8 / 10 | 03-11-2017 | Fast RMX may be little more than a port with spruced-up visuals and a smattering of new content, but it’s a bloody good one, so if you have a penchant for arcade racers you should definitely pick it up. | Read review |

GamingBolt | Alex Jackson | 8 / 10 | 03-20-2017 | As a showcase for the Nintendo Switch Hardware, Fast RMX is a gorgeous visual showcase and adapts as easily as the Switch itself to however you and some friends might want to play it, at least as what you want involves straight racing. Never the less, the solid physics behind the racing and the great polarity mechanic make Fast RMX a pulse pounding time. | Read review |
GamingTrend | Elisha Deogracias | 70 / 100 | 03-06-2017 | It may need some more polish in its modes to race with the big leagues, but Fast RMX is a great title with challenging difficulty and beautiful locales that are matched with its nose-bleeding sense of speed and arcade-inspired mechanics. | Read review |
God is a Geek | Nick Gillham | 8 / 10 | 03-19-2017 | It isn’t F-Zero, but there’s a good, fun challenge here for anyone with an anti-grav racing itch. | Read review |
Hardcore Gamer | Marcus Estrada | 3.5 / 5 stars | 03-18-2017 | Anyone who enjoys racing games and owns a Switch does not have many options for games right now beyond FAST RMX. Fortunately, it should provide players with at least a dozen hours of gameplay as they work their way from the novice cups to more advanced races. | Read review |
IGN | Cam Shea | 7.4 / 10 | 03-07-2017 | Fast RMX may not be the perfect anti-gravity racing package, but it certainly offers high-speed racing and a lot of tracks to challenge yourself on. It’s a shame that the online multiplayer offering is so barebones, and that the time trial mode is currently AWOL, but in lieu of an official Wipeout or F-Zero this is a solid option to get your arcade racing fix on the Nintendo Switch. | Read review |
IGN Italy | Mattia Ravanelli | 8.5 / 10 | 03-15-2017 | Fast RMX is... well, fast! With more tracks and ships and local multiplayer with up to 4 players at 60fps is a good choice for your brand new Nintendo Switch. | Read review |
IGN Spain | David Soriano | 8.2 / 10 | 03-06-2017 | Fast RMX is an excellent arcade racer that combines gorgeous graphics that really show off the Switch's potential with adictive gameplay style. A must-have based on the quality/price ratio. | Read review |
JVL | Alc!de | 7.5 / 10 | 03-12-2017 | It's without any filters that Fast RMX brings us at high-speed into a well-made arcade experience . With numerous and sufficiently varied tracks, a well cooked gameplay that demands your attention at all time, the game needs to appear in your library if you're into the genre, all the more so as it's price is a teeny-tiny one. | Read review |
Metro GameCentral | GameCentral | 7 / 10 | 03-08-2017 | It may still be an off-brand F-Zero, but this is closer than ever to the real thing, and with some impressive graphical and multiplayer options. | Read review |
Nerd Much? | Bobby Bernstein | 8.3 / 10 | 03-07-2017 | If you love arcade racers like Hydro Thunder, Star Wars Racer, and, of course, F-Zero, you’ll likely love what Fast RMX has to offer. | Read review |
Nintendo Enthusiast | Shawn Long | 9 / 10 | 03-06-2017 | With the launch of the Nintendo Switch, FAST RMX debuts as a launch title, which is sort of a 'definitive' version of FAST Racing NEO with some fantastic tweaks. | Read review |
Nintendo Life | Alex Olney | 9 / 10 | 03-08-2017 | In short FAST RMX is as good as the Wii U original and then some. Updated visuals, more tracks, more vehicles, it's an utterly outstanding launch title for the Switch. With the console's ability to allow multiplayer on the go rolled in, this is without doubt essential for racing fans with the new console. | Read review |
NintendoWorldReport | Casey Gibson | 9 / 10 | 03-05-2017 | The combination of visuals, audio and technical prowess makes for an incredibly sound and fun game. The lack of online options at launch is disappointing, but still doesn’t detract from the overall experience. With Fast RMX, Shin'en Multimedia has managed to deliver a triple A experience for a third of the price. | Read review |
NZGamer | Reagan Morris | 8 / 10 | 03-16-2017 | A fantastic contrast to the other slow-paced open-world launch game you’re playing. | Read review |
Rice Digital | Kitsumeda | 4 / 5 stars | 06-11-2017 | If you have grown tired of waiting for the fated day when F-Zero will return, Fast RMX Racing will have you covered. It offers 15 vehicles, 30 unique courses and multiplayer for any occasion. For a $20 title Fast RMX Racing should be a no-brainer for any fan of high-speed futuristic racers. | Read review |
Saudi Gamer | عصام الشهوان | 7 / 10 | 03-11-2017 | A fast and enjoyable racer that controls well, and for the asking price is adequate in content. With some improvements to its online play and a couple of extra modes it can become a much better game, but right now it's an enjoyable, if flawed, racer. | Read review |
SelectButton | Kevin Mitchell | 8 / 10 | 03-06-2017 | Fast RMX is a must-have racing game for those looking for an F-Zero racing experience or simply any racing game on the Nintendo Switch. Local split-screen multiplayer works better than I thought it would, and there are plenty of ships and tracks to choose from. The lukewarm online integration is to be expected on a platform where Nintendo has been quiet on the precise details of the upcoming online system that is coming later this year. | Read review |
Shacknews | Brittany Vincent | 8 / 10 | 03-13-2017 | Fast RMX is, however, an excellent racer that’s every bit worth picking up to add to your arsenal of Nintendo Switch games. There are plenty of tracks, vehicles, and reasons to keep coming back for more. But the one you can’t ignore is the greatest of all: The speed. It may not be the racing game you asked for on the Switch, but it’s the racing game you didn’t know you needed. | Read review |
Stevivor | Ben Salter | 7.5 / 10 | 03-08-2017 | With options to enable or exclude CPU racers, local multiplayer is the best of everything in Fast RMX, and at a very reasonable price. Even if you're pencilled in Mario Kart's encore as your multiplayer racing game on Switch, there's plenty of time to get in some quality time with the budget Fast RMX. | Read review |
The Outerhaven Productions | Keith Mitchell | 4 / 5 stars | 03-06-2017 | While Fast RMX is the only game in town for Nintendo Switch owners, thankfully it's a fantastic experience. Breakneck speed, responsive controls, plenty of tracks to race on and a vast list of vehicles. Toss in the added challenge of the higher end leagues and hero mode and you have a game you'll play for a long time. Once Shin'en Multimedia adds in the time trial and online friend racing, Fast RMX will be the defacto racing title for the Nintendo Switch. | Read review |
TheSixthAxis | Stefan L | 7 / 10 | 03-09-2017 | Fast RMX is practically a must buy, but it’s a purist take on the genre and damn difficult without many, if any of the bells and whistles of other racers. That said, if you’re looking to scratch a certain F-Zero or Wipeout itch on Switch it’s absolutely worth a look. | Read review |
Thumbsticks | Daniel New | 4 / 5 stars | 03-21-2017 | Fast RMX may crib from other titles, but it's beautiful, competitive, and as the name suggests, fast. It should be the other Switch game you own. | Read review |
Wccftech | Dave Aubrey | 8 / 10 | 03-30-2017 | Good tracks and great racing combine in this well-positioned futuristic racer. It's nothing groundbreaking, and is very similar to its predecessor, but it has enough new content and multiplayer fun to keep me coming back for hours. | Read review |
