You’ll have a good enough time with Arizona Sunshine 2, but for the sequel to one of VR’s greatest, it’s hard to walk away without feeling like it could’ve been something more.
Despite the many technical issues Arizona Sunshine 2 is still a good game for VR gamers. There’s really nothing like wandering around a zombie wasteland with your pet dog, but you may want to wait until a patch or two has been released to fix the bigger problems.
Arizona Sunshine 2 keeps the pressure on for a long campaign of zombie slaying full of satisfyingly gory head shots, entertaining humor, and the bond between a lonely man and his dog.

Attack of the Fanboy | Diego Perez | 3.5 / 5 stars | 12-07-2023 | You’ll have a good enough time with Arizona Sunshine 2, but for the sequel to one of VR’s greatest, it’s hard to walk away without feeling like it could’ve been something more. | Read review |
CGMagazine | Justin Wood | 9 / 10 | 12-05-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 brings much welcomed changes and evolutions to the formula of the first one. With the inclusion of its adorable Buddy, Arizona Sunshine 2 is a great VR zombie game. | Read review |
COGconnected | Jaz Sagoo | 78 / 100 | 12-11-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 improves on every aspect of the original to make this one of the best zombie games on the PSVR 2. The weapons have never felt better and make mowing down enemies a thrill. Although the horde mode is a little basic and you’ll encounter the odd glitch, the fact you can play everything with a friend improves the entire experience. With its dark humor and well-designed world, you’ll have a sadistic time annihilating foes on your trek through a post-apocalyptic world. | Read review |
Digital Trends | Tomas Franzese | 3 / 5 stars | 12-05-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2’s technical problems prevent an otherwise solid zombie VR shooter from reaching its full potential. | Read review |
Game Rant | Dalton Cooper | 3 / 5 stars | 12-05-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 has its flaws, but it’s still a competent VR shooter game that gives players a great deal of freedom when it comes to interacting with the game world. Killing zombies is perfectly functional, and the combat can be fun, though it’s best experienced in short bursts. That being said, it’s head and shoulders above the first Arizona Sunshine game, and an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a new VR shooter to play despite its shortcomings. | Read review |
GAMES.CH | Nico Schluchter | 82 / 100 | 12-05-2023 | The sequel remains true to its predecessor and takes the franchise to a new level. Strong graphics and superb weapon control are the biggest plus points. On the other hand, the level of difficulty is low and the artificial intelligence is average at best. Simple light hearted fun and suited best for casual mature PSVR2-users. | Read review |
GamingTrend | Ron Burke | 95 / 100 | 12-05-2023 | An absolute blast from start to finish, Arizona Sunshine 2 outdoes its predecessor in every way, and that’s high praise indeed. | Read review |
God is a Geek | Chris White | 7.5 / 10 | 12-05-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 doesn’t reinvent the genre, but that doesn’t mean gunning down waves of zombies with your pooch isn’t a ton of fun. | Read review |
Hobby Consolas | Alberto Lloret | 80 / 100 | 12-06-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 convinces with its mindless action, silly humor, and the relationship between Buddy and the protagonist. It may not innovate, it may have technical flaws and all its tricks have been seen before, but what it does, it does in a very entertaining way: it’s almost impossible to get bored with it. | Read review |
IGN | Dan Stapleton | 8 / 10 | 12-05-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 keeps the pressure on for a long campaign of zombie slaying full of satisfyingly gory head shots, entertaining humor, and the bond between a lonely man and his dog. | Read review |
IGN Italy | Francesco Destri | 8.3 / 10 | 12-14-2023 | Arizona Sunshine II is the classic sequel that takes everything good offered by its predecessor, improves and expands on it. There is still some roughness in the controls and the game is very linear, but if you are only interested in killing zombies with a visor on your head, you won’t find better in VR market. | Read review |
Press Start | Brodie Gibbons | 8 / 10 | 12-06-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 is a bloody, pulpy and, most importantly, meaty experience that turns undead dismemberment from a somewhat dated trope into a fun workout that gives you more than enough toys to play with. And with a loyal pup at your side, this sequel is not only a blast but it feels like the killer app the platform has been needing. | Read review |
Push Square | Aaron Bayne | 8 / 10 | 12-05-2023 | Despite some technical letdowns, Arizona Sunshine 2 is still a joyous celebration of zombie brain-bashing. It features some of the best VR shooting on the market, with a reload mechanic that is incredibly satisfying and really brings to light what makes the platform so great in the first place. As a sequel, it improves graphically, narratively, and just controls a whole lot better. With a solid campaign offering, various difficulties, and a horde mode with more maps to come, Arizona Sunshine 2 is the full VR package | Read review |
Screen Rant | Kaitlyn Peterson | 4 / 5 stars | 12-05-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 is sure not to disappoint players who are looking for all the fun of a zombie slayer and none of the gore. While the gore itself isn’t heavily detailed, it’s still fun to mow down a horde of zombies, all while listening to the protagonist’s colorful humor. On top of that, the VR mechanics themselves make this a must-play title for any VR gamer, as Vertigo Games truly does its best to showcase the limitless potential of making VR feel as lifelike as possible. Overall, this short, zombie-killing survivalist adventure seemingly has something for everyone and is worth checking out, if for no other reason than to experience some of the best that VR technology has to offer. | Read review |
TechRaptor | Robert Scarpinito | 7.5 / 10 | 12-05-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 is an A-grade VR shooter with a B-movie plot. The main character isn’t that loveable, but the gunplay sure is. It’s worth playing for the action alone—you just might cringe every now and then. | Read review |
TheSixthAxis | Tuffcub | 7 / 10 | 12-06-2023 | Despite the many technical issues Arizona Sunshine 2 is still a good game for VR gamers. There’s really nothing like wandering around a zombie wasteland with your pet dog, but you may want to wait until a patch or two has been released to fix the bigger problems. | Read review |
Use a Potion | Unknown | 9 / 10 | 12-08-2023 | Arizona Sunshine 2 is a thrilling zombie escapade that easily stands out as one of the best titles available on PlayStation VR 2 right now. It improves upon the original in just about every way, whilst new additions such as the realistic reloading, your canine companion, and the co-op gameplay help make it even more exciting and immersive to play. Sure, it does have a few missteps here and there, but they’re minor issues in what is otherwise another brilliant release from the team at Vertigo Games. | Read review |
