FromSoftware, the acclaimed studio behind the Dark Souls series and Elden Ring, is reportedly developing another unannounced multiplatform game currently in the advanced stages of production. According to a new report, the title is codenamed ‘FMC’ and is targeting a release no later than 2026.
The information, first published by MP1st, suggests this new project is being developed alongside the studio’s other known titles, including the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods and continued post-launch support for Elden Ring: Nightreign.
The report also analyzed the ‘FMC’ codename, noting that FromSoftware has previously used codenames beginning with the letter ‘F’ for projects related to its Dark Souls and Armored Core franchises. This has led to speculation that the unannounced game could be an expansion for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon or a remaster of Dark Souls 3.
The news comes as FromSoftware continues work on multiple high-profile games. Studio president Hidetaka Miyazaki recently addressed the multiplayer focus of The Duskbloods, reassuring fans of the company’s dedication to its signature single-player experiences.
“This is an online multiplayer title at its core, but this doesn’t mean that we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction with titles going forward,” Miyazaki stated. “The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring was also announced, and we still intend to actively develop single-player-focused games such as this that embrace our more traditional style.”
As of now, FromSoftware has not officially commented on the existence of a project codenamed ‘FMC’.
