Uncharted: The Lost Legacy succeeds on the strength of its protagonists, writing, and phenomenal depiction of India’s jungles and ruins. Being in the company of Chloe and Nadine keeps its overly familiar action sequences and disappointingly empty open-world area interesting, and it regains its footing in smart puzzles and thrilling cinematic moments.
Shorter than any other Uncharted game, yet just as powerful and memorable.
Despite the new protagonist, this game serves as a celebration of everything the Uncharted series has come to represent over a decade of mostly strong releases from Naughty Dog. And because of the new protagonist, it also offers a glimpse into what the franchise could become in the future, with some new developer leading the way. Naughty Dog did right by our memories here, and I hope that whoever takes on Uncharted next does right by them.

3DNews | Иван Бышонкoв | 7 / 10 | 08-19-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a compilation of all that’s good and bad in Uncharted series. It can be good at some moments, but lack of originality, poor open world section and predictable story brings this standalone expansion to its knees. | Read review |

Areajugones | Juan Linares | 9 / 10 | 08-17-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is an outstanding game that achieves the unexpected: to makes us forget about Nathan Drake. However, its narrative and plot leaves us with more questions than answers. | Read review |
Atomix | Alberto Desfassiaux | 92 / 100 | 08-17-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is an amazing new chapter for this fantastic franchise. Although the game follows a pretty conservative formula, the way it presents it’s gameplay, story and visuals, is almost perfect. | Read review |
Attack of the Fanboy | Al McCarthy | 4.5 / 5 stars | 08-18-2017 | The Lost Legacy is a worthy expansion for Uncharted 4. Naughty Dog pushes right up to its own high bar in terms of story telling, visuals and gameplay design. So long as you aren’t expecting an adventure of the size and scope of the base game, it’ll be hard to leave disappointed. | Read review |

BaziCenter | Ali Matoori | 9 / 10 | 08-28-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is still thrilling even with new characters. The Lost Legacy proves that future is bright for Uncharted series. Amazing graphic with incredible details, engaging story and challenging puzzles show us that Uncharted can continue even without Nathan Drake. | Read review |
Cerealkillerz | Gabriel Bogdan | 9.2 / 10 | 08-17-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is just as good as Uncharted 4 maybe even better besides the smaller playtime of 6-8 hours. It even manages to kill nearly all the shortcomings of the main game. Some of the fight Scenes are not as well made as in Uncharted 4 and the constant Selfie-Action of Chloe feels misplaced but if you look past that you’ll get a full Uncharted Experience that leaves little to be desired. | Read review |

In fact, the arch, peaks, and valley, in terms of its plot, are unmatched in the current landscape. | Read review |

Cultured Vultures | Michael Glover | 9 / 10 | 08-30-2017 | Naughty Dog has, again, crafted a nimble little action-adventure game worthy of the Uncharted name and one of the series’ best. Daily Mirror | Jeff Parsons | 4 / 5 stars | 09-03-2017 | Even though Lost Legacy isn’t as big (you can beat it in around 10 hours) or as good as Uncharted 4, it’s still just as fun. And as long as the franchise continues to achieve that, I’ll continue to play each installment. With or without Nathan Drake. | Read review |
Destructoid | Chris Carter | 9 / 10 | 08-17-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy proves that Naughty Dog doesn’t need Drake to keep this series going. It’s familiar in just about every respect, but given how much refinement has slowly crept up since 2007, it’s cemented itself as one of the most reliable action-adventure franchises in recent years. | Read review |

DualShockers | Logan Moore | 7.5 / 10 | 08-25-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy makes for a fun but brief journey while still boasting the same level of high quality that we have seen in past entries. While I would’ve loved to see more original content in this standalone journey, The Lost Legacy at the very least proves that the Uncharted franchise can still provide us with countless other adventures with Nathan Drake out of the picture. Despite not knowing when, where, or what the next Uncharted game will be, The Lost Legacy gives me hope and makes me excited to see what comes next in this series that I so enjoy. | Read review |

Forbes | Dave Thier | 9 / 10 | 08-21-2017 | The pacing, as always, is impeccable, moving between climbing, combat and puzzle-solving at just enough of a clip to keep things engaging, ending with an impressive set piece that rivals the series’ best on both a technical and visual level. | Read review |

Game Revolution | Jonathan Leack | 4 / 5 stars | 08-22-2017 | 15 months out from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’s release, Naughty Dog is still king of the action adventure jungle. This new angle on the Uncharted formula, which stars Chloe in a pristine mountain range of India, is often captivating, even though it follows many of the same set of standards that were unearthed a decade ago by Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. | Read review |
Game Volt | Ahmed Hassan | 7 / 10 | 08-20-2017 | This extra content seems to be an attempt to prolong the life of the game and bring it back to the lights and maybe if they had spent more time providing or even they tried to present the story of Sully – a matter of many lovers of fans would welcome him unlike the new heroes – it would have greater success than this, or at least reduce the amount of media focus and provide it in a smaller financial and technical way to be believe that it is additional content, I hope that the creative studio not trying to make commercial releases depends only on Uncharted name | Read review |
Gameblog | Gianni Molinaro | 8 / 10 | 08-17-2017 | Even if the formula is still the same, without any significant new gameplay element, The Lost Legacy succeeds in being a very good stand-alone in the Uncharted universe. It’s a gorgeous (probably the most beautiful PS4 game at the moment) and funny ride, and its loveable and very interesting protagonists surely deserve to get a another shot in a more consequent and surprising game. | Read review |
GameCrate | Quibian Salazar-Moreno | 8.5 / 10 | 08-18-2017 | If this is the last Uncharted game for Naughty Dog, it’s a great epilogue to Uncharted 4 and a solid guide on how the game should move forward in case Sony wants to bring on another developer keep the franchise going. | Read review |
Gamefa | Saeed Aghababaie | 9.5 / 10 | 09-11-2017 | Naughty Dog has done a great job again. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is truly a masterpiece. It is a symbol of the power and the magnificence of the 8th generation. Naughty Dog is one of a kind. They single-handedly increased the fans and, of course, the buyers of the Sony PlayStation 4 and this is something that not everyone can do. There are only a few developers that can create a franchise like this. A franchise that gets great ratings from dour critics; a franchise that encourages people to buy a console. Sony should be happy to have one of the best game developers of all time working just for them. Naughty Dog is truly a living legend in today’s game industry. The legendary Naughty Dog and its genius creators have shown the world how to make a good game, again! With the little time they had to make something that was supposed to be an expansion pack at first, what we see today is crazy. | Read review |

GBAtemp | Shaun James | 7.2 / 10 | 09-13-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy takes the fun, tight gameplay of Uncharted 4 and provides an opportunity to take a somewhat slower look at two incredibly well written characters on a fun romp through a beautifully presented version of India. While it introduces little new, it provides most of what you expect from an Uncharted game and everything great about the previous entries into a cohesive package that strips away the filler, providing a condensed but stunning and worthwhile journey. | Read review |

Hobby Consolas | Rafael Aznar | 87 / 100 | 08-17-2017 | The Lost Legacy is a great game. It is very fun and visually stuning, although it doesn’t introduce anything new and it feels like a déjà vu of Uncharted 4. | Read review |
IBTimes UK | Ben Skipper | 3.5 / 5 stars | 08-22-2017 | The Lost Legacy is both Naughty Dog’s fun farewell to the Uncharted franchise, and a pitch for where it could go next. The smaller scale works for such swashbuckling adventures, and its more open-plan design shows how the series should evolve. Early promise falters around the halfway point due to some noticeable shifts in what the player is able to do in any given space, but it quickly ramps up again to a spectacular finale. The game also serves as a reminder of how strong the supporting cast of these games has been. Chloe makes for a fine hero, and Nadine would have been as well. Perhaps they’ll get a chance to return one day. | Read review |

Leadergamer | Kaan Gezer | 10 / 10 | 08-16-2017 | During the review, I didn’t make any negative sentences about Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, except for the script line. Because the game is really perfect. Naughty Dog is behind the game, you can’t have a bad game from them. If you own a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 4 Pro, you definitely need to play it and even make your friends play. If you haven’t played Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End yet, there is no reason to stay away from this game too. Yes, if you play the main game first, you will have a full experience with the Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, but the game also stands successfully as an independent game. | Read review |

PlayStation Universe | Neil Bolt | 8.5 / 10 | 08-17-2017 | Taking the better aspects of classic and modern Uncharted, The Lost Legacy is a short, explosive chunk of adventure. Chloe and Nadine are elevated far beyond the supporting roles they once played, and both end up as interesting, formidable, and highly likeable characters, among the best in the series in fact. There’s a greatest hits feel to some of the set piece moments, and the story takes a little time to get going, but this manages to be both a fresh direction for the franchise, and a warmly familiar experience. | Read review |

Press Start | Shannon Grixti | 9 / 10 | 08-17-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a great standalone adventure featuring two extremely charismatic personalities. There’s a story here that’s brilliantly told with intertwined gameplay/narrative design that I’ve not seen in a game in some time. The intriguing relationship of Chloe/Nadine made playing through the game more than worth it, and some questionable new gameplay mechanics couldn’t detract from an otherwise brilliant experience. | Read review |
PSX Brasil | Rodrigo Ribeiro de Oliveira | 88 / 100 | 08-21-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a great spin-off of the Uncharted franchise, featuring Chloe and Nadine, who steal the scene and it turns out to be a great change for the series. With a good amount of exploration, cinematic action and a fun adventure, you will find all the elements that the franchise became known for in the 6 hours of campaign. It’s the same formula, but it’s a welcome game for the fans. | Read review |
Pure Playstation | Laura Francis | 8.5 / 10 | 08-28-2017 | Even though it may not be quite on par with the preceding titles from the series, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is still a highly enjoyable, swashbuckling ride and well worth playing, whether you’re already a seasoned treasure hunter or a complete newbie to the already eminent franchise. | Read review |
Push Square | Sammy Barker | 9 / 10 | 08-18-2017 | If there was ever any doubt of the talent at Naughty Dog, consider that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was made in less than a year. This sensational spin-off not only beds in two of the franchise’s more mysterious characters, but it also gloriously repurposes several of the series’ best moments. As a pseudo-Greatest Hits, the title will do little to tempt those who’ve had their fill of treasure hunting – but at a budget price (with multiplayer included) then this is essential for fans of PlayStation’s most iconic brand. | Read review |
Saudi Gamer | سندس الخباز | 8 / 10 | 08-17-2017 | The Lost Legacy showed me a future for the well-known series without its usual hero. The game presented amazing story along with great voice acting. Like every Uncharted game ever it has gorgeous world that is served by breathtaking graphics, animation, and cinematography. Unfortunately puzzles felt repetitive and easy since the game will offer you hints and help if you didn’t solve it right away. In general, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy lives to its expectations. | Read review |

TheSixthAxis | Jim Hargreaves | 9 / 10 | 08-17-2017 | Forget Nathan Drake and Chloe Fraser, if you managed to bag The Lost Legacy as part of Uncharted 4’s season pass then you’re the real thief here. There’s a staggering wealth of content to explore, the quality of which is easily on par with A Thief’s End. The stakes may not be as high, but it’s impossible not build a connection with Chloe and Nadine or revel in the set piece action and story surprises. As far as standalone expansions go, they don’t get more epic than this. | Read review |
ThisGenGaming | Justin Oneil | 9 / 10 | 08-27-2017 | I was blown away by Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and it now stands as probably my second favorite Uncharted game just behind Uncharted 2. Chloe shines brilliantly here and is backed up by some strong supporting characters. The production values here are nothing short of impressive either especially for the asking price. | Read review |
Thumbsticks | Tom Baines | 5 / 5 stars | 08-31-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is the real deal, folks. It separates the wheat from the chaff, takes everything that’s great about Uncharted 4 and distils it down to its purest, most brilliant form. Nathan who? | Read review |
Too Much Gaming | Carlos Hernandez | 9 / 10 | 09-07-2017 | No prior experience with the franchise is required to enjoy this one, but the self-contained The Lost Legacy could entice newcomers to give the previous games a chance. Chloe and Nadine are a perfect duo; they’ve got me pumped thinking about what the Uncharted series could be moving forward. The future looks bright, and if they decide to throw in some more of these side adventures, I’m all in. | Read review |
TrueGaming | عمر العمودي | 8.5 / 10 | 08-19-2017 | The new features that accompany Uncharted: The Lost Legacy did not have that much of an impact on its gameplay. But it still captures the interest of the Action/Adventure and the series’ fans alike. | Read review |
Twinfinite | Yamilia Avendano | 4 / 5 stars | 08-17-2017 | If you’re a big Uncharted fan that would love to see more of Chloe and Nadine, The Lost Legacy is definitely for you. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts, about it. | Read review |
USgamer | Caty McCarthy | 4.5 / 5 stars | 08-17-2017 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy doesn’t reinvent the series. It takes one idea, the open-world area from Uncharted 4, and expands on it. Otherwise, this is an Uncharted game from top to bottom, with all the action and adventure that entails. Nathan Drake and Sully may be gone, but Chloe Frazier and Nadine Ross are more than able to fill their shoes. | Read review |
VGChartz | Evan Norris | Recommended | 08-27-2017 | When the game does relinquish control, during firefights and around puzzles, it tends to improve sharply. Such is the case in chapter 9, where the designs of the studio meet the input of the player to create a winning symbiosis. Earlier chapters are far less successful and consistent. The end result is a game that’s less than the sum of its parts. | Read review |
Video Chums | Mary Billington | 7.8 / 10 | 09-17-2017 | Overall, The Lost Legacy doesn’t bring anything new to the Uncharted series but if you’re curious about what these less-discussed characters from the franchise get up to when Nathan isn’t around and you’re happy with more of the same gameplay and scenery then you’ll definitely want to check out Chloe and Nadine’s adventure. | Read review |
VideoGamer | Alice Bell | 7 / 10 | 08-17-2017 | The Lost Legacy is proof that there’s still life in Uncharted, though it’ll need to break out of it’s own formula a bit in the future. Chloe and Nadine could do that for the series. You just have to let them | Read review |
Washington Post | Christopher Byrd | Recommended | 08-23-2017 | The latest in Sony’s flagship blockbuster series is entertaining from start to finish | Read review |
We Got This Covered | Shaan Joshi | 5 / 5 stars | 08-17-2017 | With Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Naughty Dog has once again raised the bar when it comes to cinematic action games, delivering an experience that is equal parts exhilarating and ambitious. | Read review |
WellPlayed | Kieran Stockton | 8 / 10 | 08-20-2017 | A solid adventure whose gameplay should maybe take the ‘Un’ out of Uncharted | Read review |
