Far Cry 6 achieves just what it sets out to do., and Anton Castillo is one of the best villains in the saga. It may feel familiar - in fact, you've played Far Cry 6 many times before - but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is a phenomenal open-world action romp.

Far Cry 6 smooths over a lot of the bumps that have cropped up in the past few games and even though it misses some steps, especially with its new inventory system, it’s the best the series has been in years.
Colourful and brutal, funny and horrifying, Far Cry 6 is the distilled essence of its franchise, as well as a richer and more coherent experience than recent outings.
There’s plenty that’s familiar about the latest entry in Ubisoft’s open world shooter, but that doesn’t stop it being a blast.

3DNews | Алексей Лихачев | 8 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry still is the king of first-person open world shooters. Even if the bad guys aren't great this time and there's not that many innovations, the gameplay still is very enjoyable, especially in co-op. | Read review |
ACG | Jeremy Penter | Not Recommended | 10-06-2021 | A game with some changes to the way things worked that I loved, but the needed changes to AI performances didn't make the experience great. | Read review |
Areajugones | Ramón Baylos | 8.3 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is a game that achieves just what it sets out to do: give you a good handful of possibilities to be free to find yourself as a player within the chaotic revolution of Yara. Despite its imperfections, I will remember the game as a place I want to return to; as an open world title capable of respecting you as a player and it is you who decides how to invest your time in it. | Read review |
Ars Technica | Steve Haske | Recommended | 10-08-2021 | Likewise for outfitting your guns with separate types of bullets that target weaknesses on opponents. Since this requires a clumsy change via the menu-and more to the point, because you're invariably getting swarmed by a mess of soldiers of different classes-thinking this system was anything other than worthless was shortsighted on the developers' part. (And if this entire section sounds like a mess of menus, it is, so your mileage may vary there.) | Read review |
Atomix | Sebastian Quiroz | 85 / 100 | 10-06-2021 | At the end of the day, Far Cry 6 is like a guerrilla. It hits hard with a series of quite outstanding moments in its story, presentation, music and gameplay, but its resources are limited and, as a consequence, each one of these sections has a couple of problems that do not fulfill their mission in a way as elegant as one would expect. | Read review |
Attack of the Fanboy | Diego Perez | 3.5 / 5 stars | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is just another Far Cry game, one that desperately wants to utilize the imagery of a revolution without having anything meaningful to say about one. | Read review |
AusGamers | Steve Farrelly | 8.3 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is still a lot of fun. AI warts and all. | Read review |
BaziCenter | Farnood Samie Yousefi | 7.5 / 10 | 10-07-2021 | The 6th installment in the Far Cry series has nothing very new to say, as it continues to build on a successful formula that keeps the fans happy and willing to come back for more. Exciting gunplay, just enough content spread across a huge map and a standard Far Cry core gameplay seem enough to overtake most of the shortcomings and keep the fans busy for yet another year. | Read review |
Bazimag | Mohammadreza Zare Rafee | 8 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is a big, beautiful and bombastic game that gives you hours upon hours of fun and of course it has some shortcomings but at the end of the day it is exactly what you think a Far Cry title should be: a charismatic villain controlling a world on the verge of collapse with you as a kind of classic action hero trying to foil his schemes. | Read review |
But Why Tho? | Quinn Hiers | 8 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 has done a great job tweaking the mechanics typical of the series and creating some extremely fun and chaotic gameplay. While the main antagonist doesn’t shine like some of the past baddies in the Far Cry series, you’ll fall in love with the diverse cast of characters and the island of Yara. | Read review |
Cerealkillerz | Gabriel Bogdan | 8.8 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is in many areas the best game of the series so far and definitely the most extensive one. Sadly the not fully thought through gameplay balance and the poor enemy AI hold the title back from reaching its full potential. You'll still get an amazing cast of characters, a fully packed game world and a great selection of fun open world activities and crazy weapons, the series is known for. Newcomers and Fans of the series alike, will have their fun with this one. | Read review |
CGMagazine | Khari Taylor | 9 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | As the most expansive instalment in the franchise to date, Far Cry 6 is literally the GTA V of Far Cry games, with a solid story, vibrant, engaging characters and no shortage of things to do alone or online with a friend; for FPS action-adventure fans this is a MUST BUY. | Read review |
Checkpoint Gaming | Luke Mitchell | 9 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | With a gigantic open world filled with delightful distractions, Far Cry 6 is the strongest entry in the series and is a great example of evolving a popular franchise into something special. | Read review |
COGconnected | Mark Steighner | 85 / 100 | 10-06-2021 | At its core, Far Cry 6 both shines and suffers from many of the same strengths and weaknesses that have characterized the last few entries in the franchise. On one hand, it has incredibly engaging action and an open world begging to be used creatively. On the other, it has repetitive and sometimes rote mission design, with disconcerting tonal shifts that seat inconceivable brutality and violence at the same table with silly, absurd humor that feels at best disrespectful, and at worst, wildly inappropriate. What finally elevates Far Cry 6 is a better-than-average cast, and a more comprehensible and grounded story that is set in one of the most lavish and beautiful environments ever created for a game. It’s fascinating, flawed, and full of contradictions. It’s a Far Cry game. | Read review |
Cubed3 | Justin Prinsloo | 7 / 10 | 10-10-2021 | Far Cry 6 is a fun return to the series that feels both familiar and fresh. The new gear and weapons systems are compellingly fun, and the setting of Yara is a joy to get lost in. It doesn't quite escape the series' trademark foibles, but the interlocking gameplay systems and mechanics mesh satisfyingly to create a compelling open-world adventure. Far Cry 6 does enough to push the franchise's issues to the background most of the time, offering up an enjoyable experience that looks good, plays well and succeeds in capturing the essence of the series. | Read review |
cublikefoot | Chase Ferrin | Recommended | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 has your typical Ubisoft bloat, but the core experience is solid. Combat’s fun, vehicles are cool, and the open-world map is some good stuff too. Worth a shot if you can get it on sale. | Read review |
DASHGAMER.com | Dan Rizzo | 9 / 10 | 10-21-2021 | I’m sure a wave of Breaking Bad fans would be here for some hidden easter eggs, and yes there are some lines delivered that can be connected to its universe. Hell even some plot points that may be coincidental or ironic, but separating it from Esposito’s involvement and discerning its overarching premise for being a Far Cry game, is what fans of the series will unequivocally walk away with… and then some. | Read review |
Destructoid | Jordan Devore | 7.5 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | In a vacuum, Far Cry 6 is a great open-world action romp, and I should love it without caveats. Plenty of fans will. But when we’ve seen these same old tricks so many times before, year after year | Read review |
Digital Chumps | Ben Sheene | 9 / 10 | 05-27-2020 | Far Cry 6 is a frenzied whirlwind of chaos. Unafraid to embrace the wildest sides of the genre, letting players be their own agent of tonal destruction. | Read review |

DualShockers | Lou Contaldi | 8.5 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is an amazing journey in one of the most expansive iterations of the series to date. With explosive performances from the whole cast, it’s a game that old fans and intrigued wannabe guerrillas shouldn’t sleep on. | Read review |
Easy Allies | Ben Moore | 4 / 5 stars | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 manages to be more than just another Far Cry thanks to a strong story and wonderfully chaotic moments. | Read review |
EGM | Josh Harmon | 8 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6's barely hangs together on the strength of the gameplay loop it inherits from its predecessors. Beyond the addition of some fun new toys, like the "resolver" weapons and Supremo backpacks, nearly every design change is mystifyingly for the worse, and the mismatch between the gameplay and storytelling ambitions is more conspicuous than ever. | Read review |

Everyeye.it | Giuseppe Arace | 7.8 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Vast and long-lived, Far Cry 6 is an open world where quantity is the master: there are many playful ideas, and many customization possibilities, but often you have the impression that Ubisoft tries at all costs to never end the battle of the guerrillas, even sacrificing the finishing of the game mechanics on the altar of accumulation. Far Cry 6 is therefore a fluctuating production: moments of high narrative involvement are accompanied by others of stasis, while the gameplay oscillates between good ideas and some uncertainty in the shooting phases and in artificial intelligence. | Read review |
Expansive | Laurie Jones | Recommended | 11-05-2021 | Far Cry 6 is a stunning game, with great acting and a few nice new touches, but ultimately you are playing a game that will feel incredibly familiar to you right from the get-go. You will absolutely know what you’re getting with Far Cry 6, for better or worse, and that’s either going to sound like a dream right now, or a complete turnoff. | Read review |
Forbes | Unknown | Recommended | 10-07-2021 | Yes, its AI is slow and a bit stupid. Its driving and flying mechanics are dated. Those all-new ideas just don’t quite land. Its UI seems getting more confusing with every new game. But Far Cry 6 is definitely the most fun I’ve had from the series since the delightful Far Cry 3–even if everything seems to hinge on extremes, and rely on old tricks. | Read review |
Game Debate | Chad Norton | 7 / 10 | 11-04-2021 | If you’re looking for a game to unwind, then there’s no better place to look. But if you’re looking for something unique, something that will stick with you for years to come, you’re better off looking somewhere else. | Read review |

Gamefa | علیرضا کریمخان زند | 7.5 / 10 | 10-13-2021 | Although Far Cry 6 failed to break a spell of repetitive syquotes, it can be a good option for those who don't care much about it with their enjoyable gameplay and live and eye-catching world. | Read review |
GameGrin | Adam Kerr | 6.5 / 10 | 10-07-2021 | Far Cry 6 is two steps forward and a step back. The characters are brilliant, as is the work put into bringing them to life. Sadly, the game continues to be bogged down by more pointless content. The epitome of 'less is more'. | Read review |
GameMAG | Александр Логинов | 7 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is an attempt to use all the best gameplay ideas Ubisoft ever had. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, leaving you with some mixed feelings. | Read review |

Gamerheadquarters | Jason Stettner | 8.5 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is by far the biggest entry in the series, providing an impressive open world that’s filled with content to explore and what feels like endless hours of gameplay. | Read review |
Gamers Heroes | Blaine Smith | 8.5 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is the most fun I've had in a Far Cry game for years, but it won't be for everyone. If you've grown tired of the gameplay loops of the Far Cry titles of recent times, Far Cry 6 doesn't make much of an effort to change that up. However, if the thrill of carnage and combat still appeals, it's crazy, chaotic, and an absolute blast. | Read review |
Gamersky | 心灵奇兵 | 8.6 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | FAR CRY 6 is a solid game, with gameplay that is still not out of date for the series, and some system optimizations and improvements that have kept pace with the times. But in general, it is still a familiar recipe, familiar taste. | Read review |
GamesBeat | Rachel Kaser | Recommended | 10-07-2021 | I guess the best accolade I can give this game so far is that it’s another Far Cry game, and it’s a good one at that. It’s nice to see the return of the player character’s actual character. The villain is monstrous yet complex. Things explode. But it’s probably going to feel like a drag for far longer than it should, both in gameplay and in the story. | Read review |
GameSkinny | Mark Delaney | 6 / 10 | 10-07-2021 | Far Cry 6 sits at the dead-end of a decade of sandboxes. Existing primarily as a sprawling checklist, its story shows flashes of excellence in a barrage of bad jokes and sometimes fun but familiar tasks. | Read review |
GameSpew | Kim Snaith | 7 / 10 | 10-13-2021 | Far Cry 6 is fun, there’s no doubt about that. Yara is a fantastic backdrop, and if you enjoy mindlessly shooting stuff up, you’ll absolutely be in your element. You probably won’t really care much for Dani’s story though, and the game’s tonal dissonance can be somewhat off-putting. But lean into the mayhem and you’ll have a good enough time, even if you don’t remember much about it once you’ve turned the game off. | Read review |
GameSpot | Phil Hornshaw | 7 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Though it can be really fun, especially when it descends into absolute chaos, Far Cry 6 is overstuffed and disjointed, with so many ideas that it's tough to focus. | Read review |

Gaming Nexus | Eric Hauter | 8.5 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 excels in a lot of ways, with stellar visuals, performances, exploration, and story. But the character advancement mechanics have been reworked in a way that takes agency away from the player, forcing them to use the skills they can scrounge up instead of building the character they want. There is a mountain of fun to be had here; this pivot away from skill points doesn't ruin the game, but it also doesn't feel like the right direction for the series. | Read review |
GamingBolt | Shubhankar Parijat | 9 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 doesn't do a lot to shake up a tried-and-true formula, but still offers up an engaging story and plenty of enjoyable open world mayhem in the series' best setting to date. | Read review |
GamingTrend | Ron Burke | 85 / 100 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is the next iteration of the Far Cry universe, and you can see some of the blending from other Ubisoft properties here. Geek Culture | Jake Su | 8.4 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Following a legacy can be a hard thing to do, but Far Cry 6 successfully carves out a piece of the pie for its own with unique systems and gameplay experiences that largely succeeds. | Read review |
Generación Xbox | Juan Lorente | 9.2 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Everything is wrapped in an impressive graphic section, and that will make us feel that we are facing a true next-gen title. Obviously, some minor problems can be attributed to the game, such as an AI that sometimes acts in a somewhat strange way or some bugs typical of an open world game and that do not tarnish the experience too much. Removing this the truth is that it is difficult for me to get some more black point to this Far Cry 6, which for me is already, without a doubt, the best game in the saga. | Read review |
God is a Geek | Chris White | 9 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is a massive game, with plenty to do and see. It features a gripping story and combat that plays like a dream. GotGame | Dragos Dobre | 8 / 10 | 10-08-2021 | Overall, the storyline is good enough to make you care, and the gameplay is amazing and full of variety. Whether that’s enough to make players come back to the Far Cry series, that’s really up to you and your preferences. I’ve been playing Far Cry 6 for almost forty hours, and it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I had in a sandbox game in a while. Surely, you can argue that Ubisoft could take a riskier step towards changing the game formula, but that might ruin the essence of the game. Either way, there’s enough to keep you busy for a long time here. | Read review |

New features, such as the Supremo and various ammo types, do a great job of spicing up a familiar formula. At the same time, the series’ rock-solid gunplay and exciting exploration are more inviting than ever. Even though it sometimes stumbles, both in terms of performance and tone, traversing the island nation of Yara is so fun that you probably won’t care all that much. | Read review |
Hobby Consolas | David Martinez | 91 / 100 | 10-06-2021 | The island of Yara, where Far Cry 6 takes place, feels truly alive. In the course of the adventure, we get plenty of similar scenes, but also the exact opposite – and everything in between. It creates an incredibly fragmented experience that is difficult to live in properly. Far Cry 6 is exactly that, a large open map with lots of similar optional objectives as you attempt to take back Yara for the people and dethrone dictator Anton Castillo. It does more of what past Far Cry games since the soft reboot of the franchise with Far Cry 3, this time with a new location and characters. The game brings back the exotic locations we've been missing since Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 and adds yet another charismatic antagonist to its storied pantheon of villains. But more importantly, it's a joy to play, with a unique arsenal full of character and breadth of content that is not only comprehensive but engaging. | Read review |
pressakey.com | Tobias Heinen | Recommended | 11-12-2021 | Far Cry 6 can be saved under familiar fare throughout. Those who like the series and have already been to Far Cry 3, Kyrat in the Himalayas (FC4) or the fictional Hope County (FC5) will immediately feel at home with everything the developers throw at you. Far Cry 6 is a good open-world shooter with a massive, coherent arsenal and a pleasantly familiar gameplay loop | Read review |
PSX Brasil | Rui Celso | 90 / 100 | 10-06-2021 | At a time when Ubisoft needs to breathe new life into some of its franchises, Far Cry 6 arrives offering just that with its deep story, fun gameplay and plenty of exploration. This is definitely one of the games you need to have in your collection. | Read review |
Push Square | Liam Croft | 7 / 10 | 10-11-2021 | Far Cry 6 is the best version of Ubisoft's open world formula to date, but whether that's still a selling point to you is up for debate. The few advancements and new mechanics won't be enough to convince those burnt out to return for one more exotic trip, but if you're down for another lengthy checklist to complete, then the series has never been better. It's another healthy serving of comfort food; one that sticks to what it knows best while slightly iterating positively. | Read review |
Rapid Reviews UK | Chelsea Beardsmore | 4.5 / 5 stars | 10-31-2021 | Far Cry has had many ups and downs through its series, with many people having differing opinions about which are good and which are bad and even which is the best – Far Cry 3, for me! Now, Far Cry 6 is here – which category does it fall into? Let me tell you. | Read review |
Rectify Gaming | Dave Rodriguez | 9 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6’s fantastic story and core gameplay are some of the series best. | Read review |
Reno Gazette-Journal | Jason Hidalgo | 8 / 10 | 10-28-2021 | Overall, Far Cry 6 still feels like a Far Cry game once the sheen of the new additions wears off. You still go from point to point to expand your area of operation while also ultimately taking down Castillo’s top leaders for each region. There is also a lot to do for folks who like to really explore every nook and cranny of an open world. In that sense, Far Cry 6 is more of an evolution of the familiar Far Cry formula as opposed to a revolution, no pun intended. | Read review |
Rock, Paper, Shotgun | Ed Thorn | Recommended | 10-06-2021 | A gigantic open-world FPS that has you running between map markers to fell a dictatorship. It's undeniably fun, if a bit overwhelming. | Read review |
Saudi Gamer | Unknown | 7 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | I really can't deny that it's more of the same but it's still fun to play solo & co-op. | Read review |
Saving Content | Scott Ellison II | 4 / 5 stars | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is a much longer game than its predecessors, where you’re looking at an upwards of 40 hours just to see the end of the campaign. It does feel like an amalgamation of the Far Cry games up to this point, and doesn’t do a lot new to set itself apart. So Far Cry 6 retreads a lot of familiar ground that the series is known for, but with a bold new backdrop that helps keep it exciting. Far Cry 6 adds some RPG-lite elements to its systems that thankfully don’t get in the way of the gameplay. Dani is awesome as a fully voiced protagonist. She brings so much personality as she sings along to the songs in the car, speaks her mind, and is just a total badass in everything she does. Far Cry 6 is a next-generation adventure, hindered only by a few last-generation ideas. | Read review |
Screen Rant | Alex Santa Maria | 4 / 5 stars | 10-06-2021 | There's a lot to like about Far Cry 6, but not a lot that's new. | Read review |
SECTOR.sk | Peter Dragula | 9 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is not a revolution itself, but it is still a very entertaining action game full of interesting content. | Read review |
Shacknews | Bill Lavoy | 8 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Even with a few missteps, Far Cry 6 is a triumph in a few ways that should be celebrated. | Read review |
Sirus Gaming | Jarren Navarrete | 7 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is a pretty fun game. I don’t think it’s anything revolutionary, but it brings back the charm of the previous entries with all new toys to play with and some improvements to the core gameplay. If you’ve always been fond of Far Cry’s previous entries, then you’ll love this one. If you’re a newcomer though, you’re in for nonstop action that you may find repetitive. | Read review |

Slant Magazine | Aaron Riccio | 3 / 5 stars | 10-07-2021 | The game doesn’t fail—you’ll remember the hits far more than the swings and misses—but it’s easy to imagine the better one that isn’t too big for its britches. | Read review |
SomHráč.sk | Martin Černický | 85 / 100 | 10-16-2021 | Far Cry 6 is a videogame equivalent of a well done summer blockbuster. It has the best main character and villain the series has ever had on offer and if you're looking for a great open-world AAA FPS, you're come to the right place. However, if you're hoping for drastic changes to the formule, keep waiting. | Read review |
SpazioGames | Domenico Musicò | 7.8 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is the typical more of the same that adds nothing new to the formula. The hypertrophic open world with a plethora of missions doesn't match with standards of high quality: the product fails to renew a series that doesn't know how to look forward. | Read review |

The Game Crater | Liam Ho | 6.5 / 10 | 10-30-2021 | Far Cry 6 doesn’t necessarily reinvent the open-world action-adventure franchise, nor does it take Far Cry a place it hasn’t been before. | Read review |
The Game Fanatics | Julian Harris | Recommended | 10-06-2021 | Personally, there are very few things that I do not like about Far Cry 6. There is so much to do and discover in this game. If you are a fan of Far Cry games, this is another great entry. If you are new, it is easy to jump in and connect with the new characters and story. | Read review |
The Games Machine | Paolo Besser | 9.4 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is a very expansive first person shooter with a compelling story, full of entertaining things to do and missions to accomplish. The enemies are a little too predictable but the gameplay is always fun, with tons of weapons to find and customize, and the incredible "pets" you can bring with you are just the cherry on top. Graphics and sound are high quality and very immersive. | Read review |
The Outerhaven Productions | Cam Olmedo | 4 / 5 stars | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 gives you exactly what you want and expect from the franchise. It doesn't do much to reinvent the wheel or shake up the formula, and that's okay. | Read review |
TheSixthAxis | Gareth Chadwick | 7 / 10 | 10-11-2021 | Far Cry 6 feels like a sequel that was made because there needed to be a sequel, that's making changes because it needs to show progress. The previous three numbered games in the series felt like they had their own identity and tried to offer more and more options to the player, but Far Cry 6 is a lateral move towards something that isn't quite the Far Cry I originally loved. | Read review |
TrueAchievements | Tom West | 4.5 / 5 stars | 10-06-2021 | Giving us a classic Far Cry experience the whole way through, with a smattering of new ideas and fresh takes, Far Cry 6 is perfect for fans of the series. | Read review |

Twinfinite | Chris Jecks | 4 / 5 stars | 10-06-2021 | Despite the bugs, the déjà vu I get from sneaking around an FND Base, and the filler, I still found myself having a blast in Far Cry 6, both literally and metaphorically (I’m sorry). After 40 hours in, I’m still eager to hop back in, venturing further off the beaten path, clearing out any lingering FND Bases and checking out the Insurgency post-game content to grind out additional weapons and rewards. With a solid story, an engaging cast of characters, and a plethora of enthralling side content, Far Cry 6 is an easy recommendation for FPS fans. Now, if you don’t mind, I need to head back out on the road with ma boy Chicharron. | Read review |
Unboxholics | Θέμης Μπολτσής | Recommended | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is once again a nice regular Far Cry. You know exactly what to expect before stepping foot in it. VG247 | Josh Broadwell | Recommended | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 prefers playing guerrilla over more serious reflection because “blowing up s is fun,” and Ubisoft just isn’t quite ready to give that up yet. | Read review |
VGC | Jordan Middler | 2 / 5 stars | 10-06-2021 | If you’re interested in another Far Cry game that does the Far Cry stuff the way it’s been doing it for 10 years, you’ll probably have a good time, but if you’ve already hit your limit with this kind of game, Far Cry 6 is the ne plus ultra of why open-world game design is so badly in need of a revolution. | Read review |
VideoGamer | Josh Wise | 5 / 10 | 10-11-2021 | As it happens, though I played for much longer, I had had more than my fill after the first four hours, with no desire to venture back in. | Read review |
Washington Post | Mikhail Klimentov | Not Recommended | 10-06-2021 | So inasmuch as I’m certain of my opinion of “Far Cry 6′s” gameplay, I am not confident at all when it comes to the game’s story, of which, coincidentally, the franchise has repeatedly invited scrutiny. There are good performances and narrative beats that are compelling and trenchant. But less charitably, some of these moments evoke conversations you might find if you poke around on Twitter for a few minutes. The story invites reflection on questions that are unresolvable — and are likely to remain that way, “Far Cry 6′s” effort notwithstanding. | Read review |
WayTooManyGames | Leonardo Faria | 9 / 10 | 10-26-2021 | A lot of people will shy away from Far Cry 6, dismissing it as “yet another open world game by Ubisoft”, but I won’t try to hide it, I had way more fun with this game than I could have ever imagined. I got it for the idea of raising hell on a Caribbean island with a tank and a jetpack, and stayed for the surprisingly well-written story and likable characters. | Read review |
Wccftech | Unknown | 7.4 / 10 | 10-07-2021 | Far Cry 6 features a beautiful world filled with chaos, but it also fits the status quo for the series without putting its actors and tech to good use. | Read review |
WellPlayed | Kieron Verbrugge | 9 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | A huge, exciting world packed with entertaining content against the backdrop of a mostly-accomplished story of charismatic revolutionaries makes this a return to fine form for the franchise. Ubisoft has married inspired design with trademark gameplay to great effect. This is the best Far Cry yet. | Read review |
Windows Central | Jez Corden | 3.5 / 5 stars | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 is like Far Cry 5, 4, and 3. Despite an incredible performance from Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad fame, there's very little new or fresh about this latest sandbox shooter. | Read review |
Worth Playing | Tony "OUberLord" Mitera | 8.1 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | If you had a good time with the previous games in the series, you're likely to find the same level of enjoyment in Far Cry 6. However, many of the gameplay elements in this new game are awfully like the versions that were first established in Far Cry 3 and reused with minimal changes in every subsequent game. There's certainly more than enough content to validate the game as its own, full entry into the series. I wish for a future Far Cry entry that I can play without being able to pick out which things are exactly the same as the previous title. | Read review |
Xbox Achievements | Richard Walker | 55 / 100 | 10-08-2021 | Starting to feel like a case of diminishing returns, Far Cry 6 retreads the same formula that's stood the series in good stead for a while, but it's a formula that's starting to wear a bit thin. Still, there's some fun to be had here, despite there being little that's new or innovative. | Read review |
Zoomg | محمدحسین جعفریان | 7.5 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Minus the variety of weapons and the many possibilities of personalization, Far Cry 6's strengths are scattered. | Read review |
ZTGD | Ken McKown | 8.5 / 10 | 10-06-2021 | Far Cry 6 may not move the needle much in terms of innovation, but it executes what makes these games extremely fun to play. I settled right in within the first couple hours and couldn’t stop playing until the end. I am still cleaning up around the world of Yara and the promised DLC on the way will certainly have me back in big time. There is just a massive playground here that is extremely enjoyable to play. At the end of the day that is what is most important to me. I hope the series does change up in the future, but for now Far Cry 6 keeps what makes the experience fun and simply nails it. | Read review |
